Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) city club's Paul Musyoka started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kipchoge Atieno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Musyoka in the 5th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Ryde City's goal looked a bit too open when James Sarun came free, but Kipchoge Atieno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kipchoge Atieno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Musyoka in the 14th minute of play. In the 17thth minute of the game Paul Musyoka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ryde City's Kipchoge Atieno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ryde City's zone, Paul Musyoka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kipchoge Atieno came out of the goal and Paul Musyoka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paul Musyoka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kipchoge Atieno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. James Sarun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If James Sarun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, city club's James Sarun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kipchoge Atieno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ryde City's Kipchoge Atieno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Leakey in the 38th minute of play. Kipchoge Atieno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from James Sarun in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Paul Musyoka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kipchoge Atieno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ryde City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. William Maish was slow to take the kick. During this time city club's players had a chance to rest. Moses Okoth made a great header on city club's corner, it was just that Ryde City's Kipchoge Atieno managed to reach the ball for a save. James Sarun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kipchoge Atieno having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ryde City's zone, William Leakey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kipchoge Atieno came out of the goal and William Leakey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Tony Githinji Kevoo made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Paul Musyoka left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The city club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Paul Musyoka might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kipchoge Atieno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paul Musyoka ran back to his position shaking his head. Ryde City's goalkeeper couldn't reach when David Mulama 63 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. When David Mulama came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the city club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Mulama couldn't finish the play. When Mwangi Oduor fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ryde City's protests and gave Mwangi Oduor a yellow card for diving instead. Mwangi Oduor hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. James Sarun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Kipchoge Atieno made a huge save. After 73 minutes, David Mulama mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the city club and the Ryde City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, city club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Mulama to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, city club's William Leakey got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After some careless play in the city club defense, George Akinyi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Githinji Mbugua. The city club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Githinji Mbugua should have stopped the shot. Githinji Mbugua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Obala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, city club's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Obala came free, but Githinji Mbugua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. William Leakey's late challenge caught a Ryde City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. William Leakey helped the player get up and apologised. William Leakey hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
