Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Davis Koech took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd match minute, Silver Arrows FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sammy Cheboror to maneuver through the defense. In the 6thth minute of the game Davis Koech who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Silver Arrows FC's Elijah Valdo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vincent Biwott recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th match minute, Silver Arrows FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sammy Cheboror to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Harilal Owino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of John Denno. Newport AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harilal Owino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 23rd minute, Davis Koech fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Elijah Valdo made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Dennis Wanjohi sent off a good shot on target. After 25 played minutes Newport AFC got a freekick which was hit by Oburu Rutto. If Harilal Owino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Newport AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Biwott came free, but John Denno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sammy Cheboror kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harilal Owino in the 37th minute of play forced Newport AFC's goalkeeper John Denno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harilal Owino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Denno having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Sammy Cheboror hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oburu Rutto might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elijah Valdo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oburu Rutto ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Dennis Wanjohi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newport AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis Wanjohi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elijah Valdo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Harilal Owino to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Newport AFC's goalkeeper John Denno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Newport AFC's Charles Akoth got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dennis Wanjohi might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elijah Valdo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dennis Wanjohi ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 65 in the game by Vincent Biwott from a close distance when the talented John Denno managed to make a qualified save. Newport AFC's players were relieved. When Harilal Owino came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Silver Arrows FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harilal Owino couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute of the match Silver Arrows FC got a corner. Newport AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Willis Wambui ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 84th minute, Harilal Owino made a precise shot to the right of John Denno. Newport AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Charles Akoth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, Newport AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Harilal Owino came free, but John Denno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Newport AFC's John Denno got control of the ball when Vincent Biwott tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Silver Arrows FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
