John Kibet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Kiptanui in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Kiptanui in the 15th minute of play forced Islington Fc's goalkeeper John Kibet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 played minutes Islington Fc got a freekick which was hit by Mekatilili Kipketer. John Kibet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Kiptanui in the 17th minute of the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Jonathan Waithaka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maidenhead's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Waithaka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Islington Fc getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Mekatilili Kipketer hit a great ball. When Jonathan Waithaka came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Maidenhead fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Waithaka couldn't finish the play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 30 minutes into the game, when Rodgers Shah put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Maidenhead:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Islington Fc:s goal. Joseph Kiplagat might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Levi Kosgei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joseph Kiplagat ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 44th minute, Joseph Kiplagat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

If Dan Odinga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Levi Kosgei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Odinga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Waithaka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John Kibet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. If Sammy Valdo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Billy Musyoka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 95 minutes, Jonathan Waithaka made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Islington Fc's John Kibet tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
