Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cyrus Musyoka started the match with the kick off. Cyrus Musyoka scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Myles Temu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Saltash City's zone, Githinji Akoth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Myles Temu came out of the goal and Githinji Akoth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute, Cyrus Musyoka ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Myles Temu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. With a little luck, Saltash City's Myles Temu got control of the ball when Githinji Akoth tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wangari Shikanda charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wangari Shikanda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Saltash City's Musimbi Rono got a free kick in the 16th minute. Dedan Wangila, 17 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cyrus Musyoka in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Myles Temu saved Saltash City from getting behind. James Mwangi scored 2-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kevin Ogot, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. James Mwangi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, Crewe United's Cyrus Musyoka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Myles Temu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Crewe United's Cyrus Musyoka in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Saltash City's goalie prevented a goal. In the 36th minute, Peter Tanui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Crewe United's Wilson Lagat got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Crewe United's Githinji Akoth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Myles Temu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Githinji Akoth got free with Myles Temu in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Crewe United's Cyrus Musyoka slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Myles Temu. That made the score 3-1 after 44 minutes of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter Tanui to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when James Mwangi got free with Kevin Ogot in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Saltash City's John Kenyatta got a free kick in the 59th minute. After having played for 60 minutes, Githinji Akoth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crewe United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Githinji Akoth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Waruhiu Wakiihuri charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Waruhiu Wakiihuri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Waruhiu Wakiihuri hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Cyrus Musyoka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Myles Temu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Cyrus Musyoka sped through Saltash City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Myles Temu. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Cyrus Musyoka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crewe United's supporters rose to their feet, but Cyrus Musyoka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Myles Temu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cyrus Musyoka in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Myles Temu saved Saltash City from getting behind. Michael Griffin hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Githinji Akoth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When John Kenyatta fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saltash City's protests and gave John Kenyatta a yellow card for diving instead. John Kenyatta hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 91 minutes, Wilson Lagat mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Crewe United and the Saltash City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wilson Lagat kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, one of Crewe United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Crewe United. The referee gave Saltash City a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mike Obala, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Crewe United's Kevin Ogot. 4-2. When the referee ended the match the Crewe United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
