Waruhiu Mutuku who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Nashon Nekesa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Acinus City's Nashon Nekesa threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joseph Purba, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Francis Birir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hassan Waroo in the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute of the match Josephat Otieno shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francis Birir showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Francis Birir was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After a defensive mix-up in Acinus City's zone, Hassan Waroo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francis Birir came out of the goal and Hassan Waroo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antony Nyambura kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Joseph Purba came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Acinus City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Purba couldn't finish the play. James Chepkemei was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Brighton's James Chepkemei got a free kick in the 70th minute. After 72 minutes of play, Acinus City's Waruhiu Mutuku made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nashon Nekesa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joseph Purba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
