With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simon Njoroge in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Oloo saved Hazel Sport Club from getting behind. In the 38th minute, Simon Njoroge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Simon Njoroge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of John Oloo. Hazel Sport Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simon Njoroge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. John Oloo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Nduro, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. When Controller Waithaka fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hazel Sport Club's protests and gave Controller Waithaka a yellow card for diving instead. Controller Waithaka kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Simon Njoroge made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by James Ngugi in the 52nd minute of play forced Mufasa FC's goalkeeper Micheal Shikanda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norbert Pinches's late challenge caught a Hazel Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Michael Nduro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 61st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After having played for 62 minutes, Ali Kosgei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mufasa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Kosgei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. John Oloo made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Michael Nduro sent off a good shot on target. Micheal Shikanda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Ouko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 minutes, Simon Njoroge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mufasa FC and the Hazel Sport Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mufasa FC's Simon Njoroge got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Elijah Origi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute.
