Sammy Keino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without David Kagai Java having to make a save. Rothwell Park's Sammy Keino got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Jasolohna's zone, Shekhar Biwott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Kagai Java came out of the goal and Shekhar Biwott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute Adolfo Salvino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Kagai Java saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 minutes of play, Rothwell Park's Adolfo Salvino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Kagai Java was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the FC Jasolohna defense, Adolfo Salvino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Kagai Java. The FC Jasolohna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Kagai Java should have stopped the shot. David Kagai Java made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Salvino in the 17th minute of play. Adolfo Salvino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Kagai Java read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Sammy Keino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rothwell Park's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Keino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adolfo Salvino scored 0-6 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of David Kagai Java, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Rothwell Park were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Malcolm Murunga was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Teófilo Vilanova hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Kipketer might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Kagai Java. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John Kipketer ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, FC Jasolohna's David Kagai Java got control of the ball when Adolfo Salvino tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Shekhar Biwott came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Rothwell Park fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shekhar Biwott couldn't finish the play. David Kagai Java made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Adolfo Salvino sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Salvino got free with David Kagai Java in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rothwell Park made a substitution. Walter Mutuku replaced Shekhar Biwott. After a rather tough play, FC Jasolohna's Mohammed Limo got a free kick in the 88th minute. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Adolfo Salvino took a quick shot and it went in 0-10 without a chance for David Kagai Java to make any attempt to save it. 95 minutes into the game, Rothwell Park's Adolfo Salvino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Kagai Java made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-12.
