Seating: 1375, VIP seats: 25) Stephen Koech made the kick off and thus started the match. Duncan Birir stood somewhat misplaced when Stephen Koech came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 5 minute. If Stephen Koech had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stocksbridge's Duncan Birir proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Stocksbridge from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Okot Keino during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Widnes United's Okot Keino got a free kick in the 20th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Stocksbridge's Ngũgĩ wa Shah nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John Biwott made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 30th minute Vincent Mutheu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Biwott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute Stocksbridge were awarded a corner. Dan Masai went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Stocksbridge's corner Dan Masai fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and John Biwott quite easily take care of the ball. After 34 played minutes Stocksbridge got a freekick which was hit by Felix Cheruiyot. Duncan Birir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedan Kariuki, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 53 minutes into the match, Widnes United's goalkeeper John Biwott had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ngũgĩ wa Shah. Ngũgĩ wa Shah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. John Biwott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Ngũgĩ wa Shah had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of John Biwott. Widnes United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ngũgĩ wa Shah was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Ngũgĩ wa Shah might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over John Biwott. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ngũgĩ wa Shah ran back to his position shaking his head. Widnes United's John Biwott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Widnes United from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stephen Koech in the 76th minute of play forced Stocksbridge's goalkeeper Duncan Birir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 minutes of play Widnes United's Okot Keino was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Duncan Birir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephen Koech, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dedan Kariuki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Stocksbridge's zone, Stephen Koech stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duncan Birir came out of the goal and Stephen Koech tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Stephen Koech had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matthew Shikwati kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Widnes United's attack was well implemented in the 96th minute, but when Stephen Koech was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
