Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kipchoge Wambua started the match with the kick off. Kipchoge Wambua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. John Kariuki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kipchoge Wambua struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. John Kariuki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whitton. Omar Nekesa hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. A collision led to Whitton getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Kipchoge Wambua hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kagai Muhoho in the 11th minute of play forced Whitton's goalkeeper John Origi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Whitton's John Origi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Whitton from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute, Kipchoge Wambua ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. John Kariuki was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience was convinced that Fredrick Israel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John Kariuki was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. John Origi came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Strood United's Eliud Lel. But to his dismay, Eliud Lel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. 42 minutes into the match, Strood United's goal looked a bit too open when Kipchoge Wambua came free, but John Kariuki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Omar Nekesa fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strood United's protests and gave Omar Nekesa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Strood United getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Omar Nekesa hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kagai Muhoho made a kick off. When Sammy Ongao came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Strood United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sammy Ongao couldn't finish the play. Fredrick Israel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1-4 became the score in the 59th minute when Kipchoge Wambua elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Kipchoge Wambua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Kariuki having to interfere. Eliud Lel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the match, Whitton's Kipchoge Wambua sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that John Kariuki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. John Kariuki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kipchoge Wambua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John Origi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliud Lel in the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, Whitton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kipchoge Wambua to maneuver through the defense. Kipchoge Wambua struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. John Kariuki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whitton. Kagai Muhoho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John Origi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, Strood United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Limo to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the match, Jehovah Bilali sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because John Kariuki threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Jehovah Bilali this time. After having played for 96 minutes, Eliud Lel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strood United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliud Lel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
