Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kagai Muhoho started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After having played for 9 minutes, Kagai Muhoho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strood United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kagai Muhoho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Yoxford's zone, Eliud Lel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John Israel came out of the goal and Eliud Lel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If David Kibiwott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, John Wainaina dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of John Kariuki, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliud Lel in the 23rd minute of play forced Yoxford's goalkeeper John Israel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, Yoxford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Limo to maneuver through the defense. When Strood United's Eliud Lel in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yoxford's goalie prevented a goal. In the 36th minute, Sammy Ongao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 minutes Strood United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fredrick Mwangi who took care of the corner kick. John Wainaina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yoxford's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fredrick Mwangi in the 45th minute. A nice corner shot did that Fredrick Mwangi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this John Kariuki quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. John Kariuki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Kibiwott went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Wainaina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. John Wainaina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Kariuki having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Kibiwott in the 63rd minute of play forced Strood United's goalkeeper John Kariuki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John Wainaina in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Kariuki saved Strood United from getting behind. John Israel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kagai Muhoho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Kagai Muhoho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute of the match, Kagai Muhoho tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but John Israel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 80 minutes, John Mutuli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yoxford and the Strood United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Strood United's Kagai Muhoho got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kagai Muhoho might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over John Israel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kagai Muhoho ran back to his position shaking his head. 90 minutes into the match, Yoxford's goalkeeper John Israel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eliud Lel. When the match clock showed 97 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Kagai Muhoho sped through Yoxford's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of John Israel.
