Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Clitheroe's Mohammed Odeke started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Mohammed Odeke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clitheroe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohammed Odeke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Liverpool KN's Moses Ogot got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thomas Syombua's late challenge caught a Liverpool KN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomas Syombua helped the player get up and apologised. Thomas Syombua kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Kimutai Mwaura notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Clitheroe's John Mudavadi. John Mudavadi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Remco Driel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Shekhar Alfie in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute, Mohammed Odeke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Mohammed Odeke came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Clitheroe fans jumped to their feet. Thomas Leakey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without John Mudavadi having to make a save. 37 minutes into the game, Liverpool KN's Moses Ogot nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John Mudavadi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. William Sang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without John Mudavadi having to make a save. Moses Ogot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carsten Kruijs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Saleh Musyoka fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clitheroe's protests and gave Saleh Musyoka a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Liverpool KN booed when Clitheroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saleh Musyoka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thomas Leakey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Mudavadi having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Clitheroe's goal looked a bit too open when William Sang came free, but John Mudavadi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moses Ogot in the 68th minute of play forced Clitheroe's goalkeeper John Mudavadi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. John Mudavadi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moses Ogot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ngũgĩ wa Nyamau fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Carsten Kruijs was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Shekhar Alfie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Remco Driel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Liverpool KN's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
