Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Kipchoge Wambua made the kick off which started today's match. After having played for 10 minutes, Stephen Koech managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Widnes United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephen Koech was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute, Kipchoge Wambua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stephen Koech came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and John Origi could save by the left post. John Biwott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredrick Israel, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. John Biwott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrick Israel in the 26th minute of play. Fredrick Israel scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of John Biwott, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stephen Koech made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 30thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but John Origi would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After 33 minutes, Okot Keino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Widnes United and the Whitton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Okot Keino hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After 36 played minutes Whitton got a freekick which was hit by Evans Uche. The audience held their breath when Dedan Kariuki in the 38th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the John Origi's left hand side. John Origi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedan Kariuki, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Kipchoge Wambua scored 0-3 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of John Biwott, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stephen Koech in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of John Origi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stephen Koech was the one to do the kick off. Widnes United's John Biwott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kipchoge Wambua in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Whitton's Naftali Ogot ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind John Biwott. John Biwott yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. If Fredrick Israel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julius Wambui during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute of the match Jehovah Bilali shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but John Biwott showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 67th minute, Paul Nabwire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fredrick Israel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. John Biwott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Origi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedan Kariuki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John Origi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dedan Kariuki's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Kipchoge Wambua might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over John Biwott. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kipchoge Wambua ran back to his position shaking his head. If Fredrick Israel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Douglas Waroo came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Whitton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas Waroo couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute, Dedan Kariuki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Widnes United's Stephen Koech got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Whitton could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Widnes United throughout the match.
