In the 14th minute Felix Kipketer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oginga Birir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. sofapaka's Martin Wainaina got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Bridgnorth's Felix Kipketer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. 38 minutes into the match, David Pinches notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Bridgnorth's Francis Mbugua. Francis Mbugua was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 44 minutes into the game, Japhet Leakey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. sofapaka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bridgnorth the free kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrick Chemjor to make the kick off. sofapaka's Oginga Birir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rashmikant Sitienei in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, sofapaka's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Kipketer came free, but Oginga Birir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francis Mbugua came out and tried to block the shot, but Patrick Chemjor slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 69th minute. Patrick Chemjor's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Francis Mbugua skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Bridgnorth getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Henry Osyanju hit a great ball. After 75th play minutes Patrick Chemjor shot 1-6, a short shot which went by Francis Mbugua and just under the crossbar into goal. Francis Mbugua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Wainaina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Bridgnorth's zone, Kagai Oduor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francis Mbugua came out of the goal and Kagai Oduor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 81 minutes into the match, Bridgnorth's goalkeeper Francis Mbugua had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kevin Nduro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Mohamed in the 83rd minute of play forced sofapaka's goalkeeper Oginga Birir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Kagai Yiampoy hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute of the match Douglas Kiptanui sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oginga Birir skillfully saved the ball. sofapaka's Martin Wainaina got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 94 minutes of play, sofapaka's Patrick Chemjor made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francis Mbugua was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the final whistle sounded sofapaka left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bridgnorth.
