Spectators: 9190 (Terracing: 6894, Seating: 2113, VIP seats: 183) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Benjamin Kimutai Rop made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute, Kipchoge Waithaka left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chingford AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of St Ives FC booed when Chingford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moses Nekesa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Joseph Muhoho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Benjamin Kimutai Rop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Joseph Muhoho came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the St Ives FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Muhoho couldn't finish the play. After having played for 14 minutes, Sammy Waithaka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. St Ives FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Waithaka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benjamin Kimutai Rop recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Sammy Waithaka came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the St Ives FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sammy Waithaka couldn't finish the play. Sammy Waithaka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Michael Komen made a huge save. After a rather tough play, St Ives FC's Benjamin Kimutai Rop got a free kick in the 25th minute. Sammy Waithaka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sammy Waithaka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Chingford AFC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Lucas Griffin hit a great ball. Benjamin Kimutai Rop's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 44thth minute, Michael Komen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Benjamin Kimutai Rop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Komen having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kibak Waruinge was the one to do the kick off. Chingford AFC's Michael Komen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sammy Waithaka in the 52nd minute of play. Benjamin Kimutai Rop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Michael Komen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. St Ives FC's Ben Atieno got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Kimutai Rop scored 1-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Komen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Chingford AFC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. McDonald Mwangi hit a great ball. When St Ives FC's Benjamin Kimutai Rop in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chingford AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Ben Atieno scored 2-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Komen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 74 minutes of play, St Ives FC's Benjamin Kimutai Rop made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Michael Komen was left in no man's land by his defense there! 78 minutes into the match, Sammy Waithaka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michael Komen. Chingford AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sammy Waithaka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Benjamin Kimutai Rop managed to get in a good position for a shot. St Ives FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Kimutai Rop was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Komen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joseph Muhoho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute Benjamin Kimutai Rop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Komen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 88 played minutes Chingford AFC got a freekick which was hit by Moses Nekesa. Benjamin Kimutai Rop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Komen having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. St Ives FC had played much better football throughout.
