Franco Burgos started the match with the kick off. Ngethe Mutuku took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franco Burgos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ngethe Mutuku made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Burgos in the 11th minute of play. Franco Burgos took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ngethe Mutuku. Ngethe Mutuku dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Restaurante Salento's Ngethe Mutuku played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Burgos in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute George Weahs Academy were awarded a corner. Francis Birir went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on George Weahs Academy's corner Francis Birir fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ngethe Mutuku quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mwai Emilio Otieno in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ngethe Mutuku saved Restaurante Salento from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ngina Njoroge in the 31st minute of play forced Restaurante Salento's goalkeeper Ngethe Mutuku to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samson Kalekye in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fumo Canuto saved George Weahs Academy from getting behind. After 36 played minutes Restaurante Salento got a freekick which was hit by Samson Kalekye. George Weahs Academy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Samson Kalekye scored to the left of an out of position Fumo Canuto, making the score, 1-2. In the 44th minute of the match Sorin Capșuneanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ngethe Mutuku showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, George Weahs Academy's Fumo Canuto got control of the ball when Tony Githongo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half George Weahs Academy were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samson Kalekye to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Restaurante Salento defense, Franco Burgos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ngethe Mutuku. The Restaurante Salento fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ngethe Mutuku should have stopped the shot. Richard Israel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samson Kalekye in the 70th minute of play forced George Weahs Academy's goalkeeper Fumo Canuto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute Tony Githongo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fumo Canuto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Tony Githongo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Restaurante Salento's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave George Weahs Academy the free kick. After 74 played minutes Restaurante Salento got a freekick which was hit by Tony Githongo. Ngethe Mutuku showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franco Burgos in the 75th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, George Weahs Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Israel came free, but Fumo Canuto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, George Weahs Academy's Ngethe Mutuku threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mwai Emilio Otieno, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. George Weahs Academy were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Restaurante Salento's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Francis Birir took the corner. The corner led George Weahs Academy's Ngina Njoroge to fire away a dangerous shot which Ngethe Mutuku despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. George Weahs Academy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Francis Birir in the 93rd minute. Fumo Canuto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Israel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over George Weahs Academy could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Restaurante Salento throughout the match.
