Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Wes Gallacher took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierre Rashleigh got free with Joshua Nethercot in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 5 minutes into the match, Meols's Thomas Nethercoat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joshua Nethercot narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pierce Power charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pierce Power the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pierce Power hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Pierre Rashleigh in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joshua Nethercot, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience was convinced that Thomas Nethercoat's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joshua Nethercot was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Thomas Nethercoat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pierre Rashleigh who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Joshua Nethercot when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With his leg Joshua Nethercot managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Meols's Pierre Rashleigh fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Joshua Nethercot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Nethercoat in the 22nd minute of the match. Lennie Hopker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven Jewson having to interfere. Joshua Nethercot was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Thomas Nethercoat showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Meols's goalkeeper Steven Jewson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Wes Gallacher had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Steven Jewson. Meols's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wes Gallacher was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas Nethercoat to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Meols booed when Thorne AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominik Carpenter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Wes Gallacher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thorne AFC's Joshua Nethercot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Rashleigh in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thorne AFC's goalkeeper Joshua Nethercot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Meols getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Alex Avery hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Nethercoat in the 73rd minute of play forced Thorne AFC's goalkeeper Joshua Nethercot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Spacey hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Wes Gallacher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Steven Jewson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomas Nethercoat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Pierre Rashleigh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meols's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierre Rashleigh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joshua Nethercot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Thomas Nethercoat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thorne AFC's Wes Gallacher got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lennie Hopker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Steven Jewson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
