The corner led Galarσs's Anestis Gogolos to fire away a dangerous shot which Apostolis Douzas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Stamatis Tsakonakis struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Apostolis Douzas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galarσs. If Stamatis Tsakonakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Emmanouil Nikolaidis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The tension between the Galarσs and the Avesalσs FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Evripidis Grifisas hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Apostolis Douzas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emmanouil Nikolaidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apostolis Douzas having to interfere. Zinon Micheloudakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimitris Kalivrousis in the 36th minute of the match. If Dimitris Kalivrousis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emmanouil Nikolaidis to make the kick off. The referee gave Avesalσs FC a penalty, 54 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sotiris Chrisopoulos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Galarσs's Zinon Micheloudakis. 1-2. Zinon Micheloudakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thanasis Psichogiopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 played minutes Galarσs got a freekick which was hit by Emmanouil Nikolaidis. Evripidis Grifisas was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Galarσs's Zinon Micheloudakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanasis Psichogiopoulos in the 68th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Galarσs got a freekick which was hit by Emmanouil Nikolaidis. In the 71stth minute of the game Thanasis Psichogiopoulos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galarσs's Zinon Micheloudakis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Avesalσs FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Kleon Ntountas hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanasis Psichogiopoulos in the 76th minute of play forced Galarσs's goalkeeper Zinon Micheloudakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stamatis Tsakonakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Apostolis Douzas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Zinon Micheloudakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thanasis Psichogiopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Stamatis Tsakonakis came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Galarσs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stamatis Tsakonakis couldn't finish the play. Apostolis Douzas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stamatis Tsakonakis in the 90th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Galarσs walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
