After 44 minutes of play, NEAR EAST's Marinos Vlachos made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dimosthenis Thanopoulos was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Petros Kalathas was the one to do the kick off. Hjalmar Bengtsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petros Kalathas, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Aimilios Maridis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dimosthenis Thanopoulos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Marinos Vlachos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dimosthenis Thanopoulos. Marinos Vlachos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. In the 92nd minute, panatliakos's Simos Paschalakis seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Simos Paschalakis the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of panatliakos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Simos Paschalakis had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Thomas Bachramis shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Simos Kominidis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Dimosthenis Thanopoulos made a huge save. NEAR EAST's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
