The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kostas Petsalnikos during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 7 played minutes Ayeranσs got a freekick which was hit by Kostas Petsalnikos. 10 minutes into the match, Ayeranσs's goal looked a bit too open when Tolis Krotidis came free, but Christos Papagiannatos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute, Kostas Petsalnikos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Stratos Katsiougiannis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stathis Karaiskos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stratos Katsiougiannis in the 20th minute. Theocharis Tsironis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christos Papagiannatos having to interfere. Christos Papagiannatos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tolis Krotidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tolis Krotidis struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Christos Papagiannatos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ΠΑΟΚ. When Stratos Katsiougiannis came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Ayeranσs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stratos Katsiougiannis couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute Chrisostomos Machlas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stathis Karaiskos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to ΠΑΟΚ getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Eustratios Valianatos hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Theocharis Tsironis managed to get in a good position for a shot. ΠΑΟΚ's supporters rose to their feet, but Theocharis Tsironis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christos Papagiannatos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind ΠΑΟΚ's goalkeeper Stathis Karaiskos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Chrisostomos Machlas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nikos Pragidis's late challenge caught a Ayeranσs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nikos Pragidis helped the player get up and apologised. Nikos Pragidis kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ayeranσs's Dimitris Theodoratos tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 42 played minutes ΠΑΟΚ got a freekick which was hit by Nikos Pragidis. With an all-out effort, Ayeranσs's Stathis Karaiskos threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chrisostomos Machlas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Stratos Katsiougiannis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chrisostomos Machlas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stathis Karaiskos having to interfere.

The wind increased when Chrisostomos Machlas made the kick off in the second half. Stratos Katsiougiannis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Chrisostomos Machlas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind ΠΑΟΚ's goalkeeper Stathis Karaiskos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, ΠΑΟΚ's Argyris Notopoulos got a free kick in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in ΠΑΟΚ's zone, Giorgos Nikakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stathis Karaiskos came out of the goal and Giorgos Nikakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
