When Zisis Kalofolias came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Pefkón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zisis Kalofolias couldn't finish the play. Christos Poriotis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stefanos Kounenakis charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stefanos Kounenakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 8 played minutes Π.Α.Ο.Κ got a freekick which was hit by Stefanos Kounenakis. A collision led to Pefkón getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Kostas Marmatakis hit a great ball. Nikos Kapsouros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christos Poriotis, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pefkón's zone, Anestis Antoniou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chatziioannou Meletiou came out of the goal and Anestis Antoniou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 20 played minutes Π.Α.Ο.Κ got a freekick which was hit by Ignatios Missiakos. Zisis Kalofolias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikos Kapsouros having to interfere. Pipis Stergiatos lost his temper 26 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 26th minute, one of Pefkón:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pefkón. In the 32nd minute, Alkis Telakoglou left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Π.Α.Ο.Κ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Zisis Kalofolias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nikos Kapsouros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After 37 played minutes Π.Α.Ο.Κ got a freekick which was hit by Nikos Iakovakos. Zisis Kalofolias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikos Kapsouros having to interfere. Nikos Kapsouros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antonis Kyprianos went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. If Zisis Kalofolias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 minutes, Antonis Kyprianos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pefkón and the Π.Α.Ο.Κ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Pefkón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonis Kyprianos to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Anestis Antoniou in the 94th minute of play forced Pefkón's goalkeeper Chatziioannou Meletiou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Π.Α.Ο.Κ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pefkón had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
