With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Marinos Kechagioglou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marinos Kechagioglou stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kyriakos Vekris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Iason Anastasakos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iason Anastasakos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stamatis Papadamopoulos in the 60th minute of the match. Chavárion were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Mesopirgos BC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nikolas Koromilas took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Mesopirgos BC's goalie and right to Alexis Kontominas. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Mesopirgos BC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Marinos Kechagioglou came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Mesopirgos BC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marinos Kechagioglou couldn't finish the play. After having played for 96 minutes, Marinos Kechagioglou managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mesopirgos BC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marinos Kechagioglou was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
