The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Argyris Patsiavouras during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Kutunjalí FC booed when Spαtovon BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Argyris Patsiavouras didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Nikos Kousas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kutunjalí FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nikos Kousas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nikos Kousas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute, Filippos Barbounelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fragiskos Koutsomitras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikos Kousas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Apostolos Mouratis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fragiskos Koutsomitras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Vaggelis Chronakos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spαtovon BC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vaggelis Chronakos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paschalis Meletakis charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paschalis Meletakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 25 played minutes Kutunjalí FC got a freekick which was hit by Paschalis Meletakis. Iraklis Stathatos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filippos Barbounelis in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filippos Barbounelis in the 27th minute of play forced Kutunjalí FC's goalkeeper Iraklis Stathatos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nikos Kousas might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fragiskos Koutsomitras. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nikos Kousas ran back to his position shaking his head. 30 minutes into the game, Thodoris Kousas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spαtovon BC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kutunjalí FC the free kick. Thodoris Kousas hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. A collision led to Spαtovon BC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Thodoris Kousas hit a great ball. In the 34th minute Nikos Kousas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fragiskos Koutsomitras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Spαtovon BC's goalkeeper Fragiskos Koutsomitras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Apostolos Mouratis. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Apostolos Mouratis put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fragiskos Koutsomitras. 44 minutes into the match, Spαtovon BC's goalkeeper Fragiskos Koutsomitras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paschalis Meletakis. Nikos Kousas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fragiskos Koutsomitras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Kousas in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nikos Kousas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Spαtovon BC's Vaggelis Chronakos got a free kick in the 51st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Spαtovon BC's zone, Nikos Kousas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fragiskos Koutsomitras came out of the goal and Nikos Kousas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Spαtovon BC's Filippos Barbounelis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filippos Barbounelis in the 62nd minute of play forced Kutunjalí FC's goalkeeper Iraklis Stathatos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Apostolos Mouratis in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fragiskos Koutsomitras saved Spαtovon BC from getting behind. Iraklis Stathatos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filippos Barbounelis in the 68th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Apostolos Mouratis in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fragiskos Koutsomitras prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Apostolos Mouratis came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Kutunjalí FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Apostolos Mouratis couldn't finish the play. Apostolos Mouratis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fragiskos Koutsomitras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Kousas, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Kutunjalí FC's Apostolos Mouratis got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kutunjalí FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Spαtovon BC for a fine match.
