The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zisis Sapounidis during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to OFI getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Zisis Sapounidis hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, ASTERAS SYROU FC's Panos Kastanas got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute, ASTERAS SYROU FC's Thanos Bounias dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When Thanos Bounias came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the ASTERAS SYROU FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thanos Bounias couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thanos Bounias in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Babbis Anagnostopoulos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thanos Bounias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 played minutes ASTERAS SYROU FC got a freekick which was hit by Eustratios Raptis. Thanos Bounias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Babbis Anagnostopoulos having to make a save. Thanos Bounias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Babbis Anagnostopoulos having to interfere. Anastasios Kopanaras charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Thanos Bounias managed to get in a good position for a shot. ASTERAS SYROU FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Thanos Bounias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Babbis Anagnostopoulos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Thanos Bounias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiaguinho Britto took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Babbis Anagnostopoulos. Babbis Anagnostopoulos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Thanos Bounias scored 3-0 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Babbis Anagnostopoulos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

OFI's Babbis Anagnostopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanos Bounias in the 71st minute of play. Babbis Anagnostopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Babbis Anagnostopoulos came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by ASTERAS SYROU FC's Thanos Bounias. But to his dismay, Thanos Bounias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After having played for 91 minutes, Thanos Bounias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ASTERAS SYROU FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thanos Bounias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eustratios Raptis hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Babbis Anagnostopoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thanos Bounias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Thanos Bounias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of ASTERAS SYROU FC booed when OFI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aris Premetis didn't get a good kick on the ball.
