Kostas Kalokiris hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Rιthimnon FC's Nikos Spilias suffered a sore thigh after 4 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Giannis Lazarakoglou kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Errikos Malliaras in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thodoris Giannopoulatos saved Vrangianα from getting behind. In the 10th minute, Rιthimnon FC's Andreas Chatziioannou seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Andreas Chatziioannou the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Rιthimnon FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Andreas Chatziioannou had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Rιthimnon FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vrangianα:s goal. Giannis Lazarakoglou walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 18 minutes Rιthimnon FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Giannis Lazarakoglou who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Rιthimnon FC's goalie and right to Panos Bourlokas. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Rιthimnon FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 22 minutes into the match, Rιthimnon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Panos Bourlokas came free, but Panagiotis Tzikas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugenios Pikilidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thodoris Giannopoulatos having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Rιthimnon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kostas Kalokiris to maneuver through the defense. Giannis Lazarakoglou took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Panagiotis Tzikas. Rιthimnon FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rιthimnon FC's Eugenios Pikilidis got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eugenios Pikilidis struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Thodoris Giannopoulatos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rιthimnon FC. In the 38th minute, Eugenios Pikilidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kostas Kalokiris came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Rιthimnon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kostas Kalokiris couldn't finish the play. Kostas Kalokiris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thodoris Giannopoulatos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavlos Katsadramis, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Panos Bourlokas to strike the kick off in the second half. If Dimitris Bazinas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rιthimnon FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Kostas Kalokiris hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Rιthimnon FC's Kostas Kalokiris dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Panagiotis Tzikas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christos Ioannou, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After having played for 72 minutes, Anastasios Spanidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rιthimnon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anastasios Spanidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Kostas Kalokiris had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thodoris Giannopoulatos. Vrangianα's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kostas Kalokiris was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Eugenios Pikilidis struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Thodoris Giannopoulatos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rιthimnon FC. In the 84th minute Dimitris Bazinas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Panagiotis Tzikas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Dimitris Bazinas made a precise shot to the right of Panagiotis Tzikas. Rιthimnon FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 3-2 became the score in the 89th minute when Panos Bourlokas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Eugenios Pikilidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christodoulos Lavas's late challenge caught a Rιthimnon FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christodoulos Lavas helped the player get up and apologised. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Vrangianα were victorious despite being under pressure from Rιthimnon FC for much of the match.
