The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giorgos Loukidis to strike the kick off in the second half. Giorgos Loukidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stratos Kladis's late challenge caught a star's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stratos Kladis helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Mourtia's Stratos Kladis got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Miltos Topouzis hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Thomas Loubadiaris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ilias Kalamaropoulos in the 68th minute. When Telis Varvouzanis got free in front of the goal in the 72nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Thomas Loubadiaris was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The referee ignored Mourtia's protests and gave Paris Kourbanas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mourtia getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Paris Kourbanas hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giorgos Loukidis in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fanis Kouretas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Giorgos Loukidis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fanis Kouretas having to make a save. The Mourtia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mourtia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
