After a rather tough play, Opayia's Fondas Koutsoureas got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 3 minutes into the match, Opayia's goal looked a bit too open when Efthimis Grigorakis came free, but Makis Topalidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Paschalis Koupepes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Opayia's supporters rose to their feet, but Paschalis Koupepes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vasco Rossi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 7 minutes, Paschalis Koupepes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Opayia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paschalis Koupepes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Athletic Athens F.C. 2007's goalkeeper Vasco Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Panos Stam took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Makis Topalidis to make any attempt to save it. Makis Topalidis came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Athletic Athens F.C. 2007's Calito Escalona. But to his dismay, Calito Escalona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Makis Topalidis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calito Escalona's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Efthimis Grigorakis had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 24 minutes, Lakis Iordanidis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Opayia and the Athletic Athens F.C. 2007 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lakis Iordanidis kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Panos Stam fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Vasco Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paschalis Koupepes in the 31st minute of the match. Calito Escalona kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Vasco Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paschalis Koupepes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ints Staģeris's late challenge caught a Opayia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ints Staģeris helped the player get up and apologised. Calito Escalona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paschalis Koupepes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paschalis Koupepes was the one to do the kick off. Paschalis Koupepes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Rossi having to interfere. Vasco Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lakis Iordanidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Opayia's goal looked a bit too open when Panos Stam came free, but Makis Topalidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calito Escalona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Makis Topalidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panos Stam in the 63rd minute of play forced Opayia's goalkeeper Makis Topalidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Lakis Iordanidis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Panos Stam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Makis Topalidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calito Escalona, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Calito Escalona struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Makis Topalidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Athletic Athens F.C. 2007. When Paschalis Koupepes came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Opayia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paschalis Koupepes couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the match, Opayia's goal looked a bit too open when Panos Stam came free, but Makis Topalidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Makis Topalidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panos Stam in the 80th minute of play. Panos Stam took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Makis Topalidis. Makis Topalidis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 87th minute Calito Escalona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Makis Topalidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Makis Topalidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calito Escalona, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Andreas Paliogiannos kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The referee gave Athletic Athens F.C. 2007 a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Panos Stam, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Opayia's Makis Topalidis. 4-0. Opayia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
