After 17 played minutes Statha FC got a freekick which was hit by Evripidis Kakalis. In the 22nd minute, Eugenios Keskembes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eugenios Keskembes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Notis Christodoulidis in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nikolas Tochouroglou prevented the ball from getting in the gole. AXAIKOS's Nikolas Tochouroglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Notis Christodoulidis in the 32nd minute of play. Dimitris Kalaboukidis hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Statha FC's Dionysis Seletopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Manouselis in the 35th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Notis Christodoulidis to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Kostas Manouselis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dionysis Seletopoulos was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 87th minute, Marios Papachristoulis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AXAIKOS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petros Skiadopoulos in the 91st minute of play forced Statha FC's goalkeeper Dionysis Seletopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AXAIKOS's Marios Papachristoulis took a good shot, in the 94th minute, which hit the crossbar above Dionysis Seletopoulos's head, and flew over the goal. Statha FC's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by AXAIKOS. 96 minutes into the game, Aimilios Kifonidis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Statha FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AXAIKOS the free kick. Aimilios Kifonidis hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. AXAIKOS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
