Gavril Lucrețiu came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Koukoϊlia BC's Dorotheos Ntaraklitsas. But to his dismay, Dorotheos Ntaraklitsas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gavril Lucrețiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Babbis Iliopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Manos Kanellopoulos's late challenge caught a Koukoϊlia BC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manos Kanellopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Olympique de Komotini's Manos Kanellopoulos got a free kick in the 12th minute. Anastasios Baxevanis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 minutes, Theagenis Tsirilidis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olympique de Komotini and the Koukoϊlia BC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Olympique de Komotini got a freekick which was hit by Theagenis Tsirilidis. Gavril Lucrețiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorotheos Ntaraklitsas in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Koukoϊlia BC booed when Olympique de Komotini was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Themis Kavourakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Dorotheos Ntaraklitsas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gavril Lucrețiu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. A collision led to Olympique de Komotini getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Theagenis Tsirilidis hit a great ball. Theagenis Tsirilidis made in the 31st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Manos Kanellopoulos immediately put the ball in play. Manos Papadopoulos struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Akakios Lazariadis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olympique de Komotini. Olympique de Komotini's Gavril Lucrețiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babbis Iliopoulos in the 43rd minute of play. Nontas Alexandris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Akakios Lazariadis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nontas Alexandris was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Anastasios Baxevanis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gavril Lucrețiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manos Papadopoulos in the 57th minute of play forced Koukoϊlia BC's goalkeeper Akakios Lazariadis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Theagenis Tsirilidis made in the 61st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Koukoϊlia BC's Dorotheos Ntaraklitsas. Akakios Lazariadis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nontas Alexandris, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Dorotheos Ntaraklitsas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gavril Lucrețiu. When Koukoϊlia BC's Babbis Iliopoulos, in the 96th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Koukoϊlia BC. The Koukoϊlia BC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Koukoϊlia BC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
