If Kleon Diamantidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ολυμπιακος's Fotis Tsobanakis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save ολυμπιακος from getting a goal against them. In the 18th match minute, ολυμπιακος was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charis Panagiotou to maneuver through the defense. Nikos Kornaros was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ολυμπιακος's goalkeeper Fotis Tsobanakis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 34th minute of the game, Charis Panagiotou landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Spyros Konstantopoulos's late challenge caught a ολυμπιακος's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Spyros Konstantopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th match minute, Iliσrrachi BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Spyros Konstantopoulos to maneuver through the defense. Panos Maravas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prodromos Sgouros having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Spyros Konstantopoulos got free with Fotis Tsobanakis in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Spyros Konstantopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Fotis Tsobanakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Fotis Tsobanakis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 70 minutes, Spyros Konstantopoulos made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. ολυμπιακος's Fotis Tsobanakis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Kyriakos Vlastos fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ολυμπιακος's protests and gave Kyriakos Vlastos a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ολυμπιακος! 85 minutes into the game, Spyros Konstantopoulos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Fotis Tsobanakis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the ολυμπιακος defense, Kosmas Karfopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fotis Tsobanakis. The ολυμπιακος fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fotis Tsobanakis should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kosmas Karfopoulos in the 97th minute of play forced ολυμπιακος's goalkeeper Fotis Tsobanakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fotis Tsobanakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Spyros Konstantopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute.
