The Gythelon FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alekos Gikas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fondas Kostarakis in the 9th minute of the match. After having played for 20 minutes, Fondas Kostarakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Khαrkia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fondas Kostarakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Vaggelis Bantas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eustratios Mavrogenidis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 30th match minute, Khαrkia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aggelos Katsavos to maneuver through the defense. If Vaggelis Bantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alekos Gikas made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Ignatios Garpozis sent off a good shot on target. Vaggelis Bantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fondas Kostarakis in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alekos Gikas saved Gythelon FC from getting behind. 48 minutes into the match, Fondas Kostarakis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alekos Gikas, 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vaggelis Bantas to strike the kick off in the second half. Alekos Gikas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fondas Kostarakis in the 58th minute of the match. If Ignatios Garpozis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Gythelon FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Emmanouil Kasimidis hit a great ball. Alekos Gikas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fondas Kostarakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Ignatios Garpozis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ignatios Garpozis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Alekos Gikas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vladimiros Iordanakis's late challenge caught a Khαrkia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimiros Iordanakis helped the player get up and apologised. Vladimiros Iordanakis kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After 71 played minutes, Khαrkia FC's Spyros Maropoulos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alekos Gikas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Khαrkia FC reached it. After having played for 78 minutes, Ignatios Garpozis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 89th minute Fondas Kostarakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alekos Gikas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
