When Lνkion FC's Ermis Nikitopoulos in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a left leg Paraskevas Chatzidakis saved PANIONIOS from getting behind. Iraklis Kamelidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Paraskevas Chatzidakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lνkion FC. When Minas Patsatzoglou fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PANIONIOS's protests and gave Minas Patsatzoglou a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th match minute, PANIONIOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Minas Patsatzoglou to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Lνkion FC's Vassilis Perdikakis to fire away a dangerous shot which Paraskevas Chatzidakis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Paraskevas Chatzidakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giannis Kotsonis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. PANIONIOS's Paraskevas Chatzidakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iraklis Kamelidis in the 36th minute of play. Ermis Nikitopoulos took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paraskevas Chatzidakis. Paraskevas Chatzidakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermis Nikitopoulos in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kostas Baltas made a kick off.
