After a defensive mix-up in Indepented Cyprus United's zone, Thanos Kioupouroglou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Makis Zachopoulos came out of the goal and Thanos Kioupouroglou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ntinos Xanthos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Makis Zachopoulos firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 18th minute, Andreas Sitaropoulos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Makis Zachopoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thanos Kioupouroglou, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Indepented Cyprus United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 72nd minute Ilias Valsaris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alekos Papachronakos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanos Kioupouroglou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Makis Zachopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Makis Zachopoulos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ntinos Xanthos in the 87th minute of the match.
