Spectators: 7442 (Terracing: 5691, Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 151) When Tasos Klapaftis came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Asteras Rachoulas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tasos Klapaftis couldn't finish the play. Stavros Varvouzanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loukianos Neophytou in the 5th minute of the match. Ulryk Grucza struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Antonis Bosoulas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PAOK. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grigoris Ziogalas in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stavros Varvouzanis saved PAOK from getting behind. In the 13th match minute, Asteras Rachoulas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Makis Siakkas to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Argyris Viglas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Asteras Rachoulas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Argyris Viglas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stavros Varvouzanis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in PAOK's zone, Loukianos Neophytou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stavros Varvouzanis came out of the goal and Loukianos Neophytou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stavros Varvouzanis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tasos Klapaftis, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 25th play minutes Argyris Viglas shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Stavros Varvouzanis and just under the crossbar into goal. Vilmantas Daubaras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stavros Varvouzanis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loukianos Neophytou in the 36th minute of play. Ulryk Grucza might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antonis Bosoulas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulryk Grucza ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th minute, Ulryk Grucza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stavros Varvouzanis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grigoris Ziogalas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Loukianos Neophytou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stavros Varvouzanis. PAOK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loukianos Neophytou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Ulryk Grucza charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulryk Grucza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ulryk Grucza was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Asteras Rachoulas FC booed when PAOK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulryk Grucza didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mairo Raie fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PAOK's protests and gave Mairo Raie a yellow card for diving instead. In the 49th match minute, PAOK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mairo Raie to maneuver through the defense. Asteras Rachoulas FC made a substitution. Vassilis Dimitrakopoulos replaced Makis Siakkas. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Miltos Bamias to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grigoris Ziogalas in the 56th minute of play forced PAOK's goalkeeper Stavros Varvouzanis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Loukianos Neophytou got free with Stavros Varvouzanis in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, Argyris Viglas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Stavros Varvouzanis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to PAOK getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Loukas Kourbanas hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the game, PAOK's Miltos Bamias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antonis Bosoulas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Grigoris Korakis during the 65th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Loukianos Neophytou got free with Stavros Varvouzanis in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Argyris Viglas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stavros Varvouzanis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grigoris Ziogalas, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. 100 minutes into the match, PAOK's goal looked a bit too open when Grigoris Ziogalas came free, but Stavros Varvouzanis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Asteras Rachoulas FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than PAOK throughout the match.
