The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute of the match, Thalis Tsolakis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Minas Chatzipanagis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 7 minutes into the match, TRAPEZOUNTA's goalkeeper Minas Chatzipanagis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pavlos Baboulas. In the 10th match minute, Néos Koukloutzás BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kostas Tirovolas to maneuver through the defense. After 11 minutes, Mati Dziechciowski made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Néos Koukloutzás BC's Nikos Orfanopoulos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Takis Tzanetos came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Néos Koukloutzás BC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Takis Tzanetos couldn't finish the play. Minas Chatzipanagis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Takis Tzanetos in the 17th minute. After 18 minutes, Alekos Vakoufaris mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Néos Koukloutzás BC and the TRAPEZOUNTA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes Néos Koukloutzás BC got a freekick which was hit by Alekos Vakoufaris. Minas Chatzipanagis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alekos Vakoufaris in the 20th minute of the match. Minas Chatzipanagis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Takis Tzanetos in the 23rd minute. Pavlos Baboulas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nikos Orfanopoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mati Dziechciowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Thalis Tsolakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nikos Orfanopoulos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mati Dziechciowski's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. The supporters of TRAPEZOUNTA booed when Néos Koukloutzás BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Takis Tzanetos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pavlos Baboulas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Minas Chatzipanagis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute of the match, Alekos Vakoufaris tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Minas Chatzipanagis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 42 minutes, Mati Dziechciowski made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Néos Koukloutzás BC's Nikos Orfanopoulos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alekos Vakoufaris to make the kick off. The TRAPEZOUNTA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Minas Chatzipanagis should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alekos Vakoufaris in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Minas Chatzipanagis saved TRAPEZOUNTA from getting behind. Minas Chatzipanagis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pavlos Baboulas in the 65th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Alekos Vakoufaris notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of TRAPEZOUNTA's Minas Chatzipanagis. Minas Chatzipanagis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Takis Tzanetos in the 77th minute of play forced TRAPEZOUNTA's goalkeeper Minas Chatzipanagis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Minas Chatzipanagis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavlos Baboulas, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Minas Chatzipanagis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Takis Tzanetos went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score.
