Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giorgos Bitoulass short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Sotiris Kokkalas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 17 played minutes, Kakkoulion BC's Kosmas Stavropodis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stefanos Kioulekas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kakkoulion BC reached it. Christos Mersinias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Giorgos Bitoulas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kastaniα BC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giorgos Bitoulas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sotiris Kokkalas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Christos Mersinias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sotiris Kokkalas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giorgos Bitoulas in the 35th minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Thanos Letsas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kastaniα BC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thanos Letsas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stathis Pezos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Stefanos Kioulekas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stathis Pezos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefanos Kioulekas having to interfere. Kakkoulion BC's Stathis Pezos got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stathis Pezos made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Kastaniα BC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Christos Mersinias fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Stefanos Kioulekas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stathis Pezos in the 53rd minute. The Kakkoulion BC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sotiris Kokkalas should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanos Letsas in the 60th minute of play forced Kakkoulion BC's goalkeeper Sotiris Kokkalas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Kastaniα BC booed when Kakkoulion BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stathis Pezos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Christos Mersinias came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Kakkoulion BC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christos Mersinias couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christos Mersinias got free with Stefanos Kioulekas in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kakkoulion BC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kosmas Stavropodis in the 73rd minute. Thanos Letsas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Sotiris Kokkalas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kastaniα BC's zone, Christos Mersinias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stefanos Kioulekas came out of the goal and Christos Mersinias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
