The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iason Mavropoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stathis Amanatidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Néa Málgara's Thrasivoulos Kabolis got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Iliochórion's goal looked a bit too open when Stathis Amanatidis came free, but Iason Mavropoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Néa Málgara's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Charalambos Kosmopoulos 44 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thrasivoulos Kabolis made a kick off. Thrasivoulos Kabolis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 played minutes Iliochórion got a freekick which was hit by Eustratios Pardalakis. Iason Mavropoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thrasivoulos Kabolis in the 88th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thrasivoulos Kabolis in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iason Mavropoulos saved Iliochórion from getting behind. Stathis Amanatidis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iason Mavropoulos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
