After having played for 3 minutes, Stamatis Mastorakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Μακεδονια Ελληνικη's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stamatis Mastorakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 8 minutes of play, Μακεδονια Ελληνικη's Giannis Nassiakos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Louis Marinakis was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Giannis Nassiakos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stamatis Mastorakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Louis Marinakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Philip Sande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Louis Marinakis was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Louis Marinakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stamatis Mastorakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Stamatis Mastorakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Louis Marinakis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Π.Α.Ο.Κ F.C's Louis Marinakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giannis Nassiakos in the 37th minute of play. Stamatis Mastorakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Marinakis having to interfere. The long shot by Theodosis Pourliotopoulos in the 46th minute really tested Nikos Kavouras's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Nikos Kavouras made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Giannis Charalambous sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Giannis Charalambous got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 55th minute of the match Π.Α.Ο.Κ F.C got a corner. Μακεδονια Ελληνικη's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniil Kourkoulis ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniil Kourkoulis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Μακεδονια Ελληνικη's Nikos Kavouras did a great save. After 56 minutes, Philip Sande mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Μακεδονια Ελληνικη and the Π.Α.Ο.Κ F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Charilaos Karousis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Louis Marinakis was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Stamatis Mastorakis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 73rd playminute. Charilaos Karousis hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Μακεδονια Ελληνικη's zone, Daniil Kourkoulis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nikos Kavouras came out of the goal and Daniil Kourkoulis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Louis Marinakis made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Stamatis Mastorakis sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute Μακεδονια Ελληνικη were awarded a corner. Philip Sande went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Μακεδονια Ελληνικη's corner Manos Farsakoglou fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Louis Marinakis quite easily take care of the ball. When the match was over Μακεδονια Ελληνικη could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Π.Α.Ο.Κ F.C throughout the match.
