After a rather tough play, Πανιώνιος's Panos Perdikoglou got a free kick in the 6th minute. The audience was convinced that Dionysis Bosinakos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Apostolos Kefalopoulos was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. With a left leg Apostolos Kefalopoulos saved Πανιώνιος from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, Footopia's goal looked a bit too open when Themistoklis Stathakos came free, but Christos Mitropanos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dionysis Bosinakos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Paris Vasalas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Πανιώνιος's Apostolikas Maravas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 27th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Christos Mitropanos but with some difficulty. After some careless play in the Footopia defense, Panos Perdikoglou kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christos Mitropanos. The Footopia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christos Mitropanos should have stopped the shot. Christos Mitropanos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petros Patemtzis in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petros Patemtzis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panos Perdikoglou in the 51st minute of play forced Footopia's goalkeeper Christos Mitropanos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Dionysis Bosinakos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Footopia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dionysis Bosinakos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dionysis Bosinakos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Apostolos Kefalopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Periklis Bourlokas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Petros Patemtzis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Footopia getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Jesper Hybbert hit a great ball. Christos Mitropanos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petros Patemtzis, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Christos Mitropanos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petros Patemtzis in the 85th minute of play. Christos Mitropanos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panos Perdikoglou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd match minute, Footopia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesper Hybbert to maneuver through the defense. Πανιώνιος succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Footopia had controlled the match.
