After 17 minutes of play, Vatsouniα's Lakis Kabitakis made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dimos Matsoukas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lakis Kabitakis scored 3-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dimos Matsoukas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Lakis Kabitakis took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Dimos Matsoukas to make any attempt to save it. If Lakis Kabitakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lakis Kabitakis in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dimos Matsoukas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dimos Matsoukas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miltos Makridakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Lakis Kabitakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dimos Matsoukas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Giannis Santamouris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miltos Makridakis was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Miltos Makridakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimos Matsoukas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lakis Kabitakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Dimos Matsoukas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dimos Matsoukas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miltos Zois, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Stratos Kefalas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stratos Kefalas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paris Kassiantidis having to interfere. Alexandros Valsamakis was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
