The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anastasios Liolidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aggelos Tripitsidis took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Charalambos Telemes. Charalambos Telemes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Anka FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Eugenios Vouzas hit a great ball. The supporters of Anka FC booed when Bandiera Rossa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikos Giannakopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Eleftherios Anastasakos fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bandiera Rossa's protests and gave Eleftherios Anastasakos a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bandiera Rossa's Eleftherios Anastasakos got a free kick in the 17th minute. Charalambos Telemes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikos Giannakopoulos in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Anka FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Giannakopoulos came free, but Charalambos Telemes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Menios Xanthatos in the 24th minute of play forced Bandiera Rossa's goalkeeper Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Anka FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Giannakopoulos came free, but Charalambos Telemes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Menios Xanthatos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis having to interfere. Tasos Itoudis's late challenge caught a Anka FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tasos Itoudis helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Bandiera Rossa got a freekick which was hit by Tasos Itoudis. Menios Xanthatos in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Anastasios Liolidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis having to interfere. Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 41st minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After a rather tough play, Bandiera Rossa's Fotis Paspalakis got a free kick in the 44th minute. If Anastasios Liolidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nikos Giannakopoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Menios Xanthatos struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Anka FC. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Menios Xanthatos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Makis Vrachnos hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Menios Xanthatos, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Menios Xanthatos went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fotis Paspalakis got free with Charalambos Telemes in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, Anka FC's goalkeeper Charalambos Telemes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fotis Paspalakis. Menios Xanthatos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. With a little luck, Anka FC's Charalambos Telemes got control of the ball when Aggelos Tripitsidis tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Bandiera Rossa booed when Anka FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paris Gaitanopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Fotis Paspalakis could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Charalambos Telemes however easily saved by the left post. The audience was convinced that Menios Xanthatos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chatziantoniou Papachristoulis was relentless in the 81st minute of the game.
