The audience thought a goal was coming when Thomas Kiassos got free with Nikos Chatzipetrou in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Stefanos Loukopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Kiassos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nikos Chatzipetrou read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Paraskevas Ipsilantis kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Kostas Perpelidis struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Dimitris Irinakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thiva. 14 minutes into the game, Thiva's Spyros Mitropanos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dimitris Irinakis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience was convinced that Kostas Perpelidis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dimitris Irinakis was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Thomas Kiassos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Nikos Chatzipetrou when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Stefanos Loukopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Nikos Chatzipetrou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Christos Labakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dimitris Irinakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kostas Perpelidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Dimitris Irinakis came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Thiva's Kostas Perpelidis. But to his dismay, Kostas Perpelidis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After having played for 45 minutes, Stefanos Loukopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Attiki's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefanos Loukopoulos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stefanos Loukopoulos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nikos Chatzipetrou came out and tried to block the shot, but Stefanos Loukopoulos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stefanos Loukopoulos made a kick off. When Nestoras Kanatas fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thiva's protests and gave Nestoras Kanatas a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Thiva fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! The referee gave FC Attiki a penalty, 57 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Anestis Dimas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Thiva's Nikos Chatzipetrou. 2-2. Stefanos Loukopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Nikos Chatzipetrou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Thiva's zone, Stefanos Loukopoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nikos Chatzipetrou came out of the goal and Stefanos Loukopoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Notis Thomakos's late challenge caught a FC Attiki's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Notis Thomakos helped the player get up and apologised. Notis Thomakos hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Anestis Dimas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Thiva's Nikos Chatzipetrou didn't even have to move. Spyros Mitropanos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dimitris Irinakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spyros Mitropanos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stefanos Loukopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikos Chatzipetrou having to interfere. Stefanos Loukopoulos succeeded in the game's 90th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. If Kostas Perpelidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lambis Likourinos kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. Thiva's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
