When Giorgos Papastavrou came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Aλtorrαchi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giorgos Papastavrou couldn't finish the play. Stamatis Poulakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Michalis Metaxas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Anastasios Kalokiris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eustratios Koufaliotis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Savas Michaloliakos in the 28th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Savas Michaloliakos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Varies FC's goal looked a bit too open when Panagiotis Kosmas came free, but Eustratios Koufaliotis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes Varies FC got a freekick which was hit by Anastasios Kalokiris. Stamatis Poulakis might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michalis Metaxas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stamatis Poulakis ran back to his position shaking his head. Varies FC's Stamatis Poulakis got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Thrasivoulos Tzanakakis fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varies FC's protests and gave Thrasivoulos Tzanakakis a yellow card for diving instead. Varies FC:s Eustratios Koufaliotis showed great skill when he stopped Alexandros Tatsis:s penalty. 69 minutes into the match, Aλtorrαchi's goalkeeper Michalis Metaxas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stamatis Poulakis. Eustratios Koufaliotis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Savas Michaloliakos, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If Stamatis Poulakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Varies FC's Stamatis Poulakis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michalis Metaxas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stamatis Poulakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Varies FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Aλtorrαchi side.
