Panos Spanos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustratios Koufaliotis having to interfere. A collision led to Varies FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Giorgos Karatassos hit a great ball. Panos Spanos charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Panos Spanos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eustratios Koufaliotis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manos Ferekidis in the 25th minute of play. Diogenis Zografos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alekos Koulakiotis's late challenge caught a Varies FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alekos Koulakiotis helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Π.Α.Ο.Κ.'s Alekos Koulakiotis got a free kick in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogenis Zografos in the 36th minute of play forced Varies FC's goalkeeper Eustratios Koufaliotis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Sofoklis Paraskevopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varies FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sofoklis Paraskevopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thodoris Kourentas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stamatis Poulakis got free with Thodoris Kourentas in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thodoris Kourentas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sofoklis Paraskevopoulos in the 74th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Π.Α.Ο.Κ.'s Miltiadis Kapodistrias got a free kick in the 75th minute. Eustratios Koufaliotis was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alekos Koulakiotis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 80 minute of play. When Anastasios Kalokiris fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varies FC's protests and gave Anastasios Kalokiris a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Π.Α.Ο.Κ. booed when Varies FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anastasios Kalokiris didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Diogenis Zografos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
