Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Giannis Saveris successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 22nd minute, Ntinos Staboulis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A very good chance. Giannis Saveris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stratos Bakiris, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Pavlos Rodinos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stefanos Asimakopoulos having to make a save. Iraklis's Stefanos Asimakopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ntinos Staboulis in the 34th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Ntinos Staboulis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stefanos Asimakopoulos. Iraklis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ntinos Staboulis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 38 minutes, Stratos Bakiris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iraklis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stratos Bakiris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Stratos Bakiris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Stratos Bakiris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giannis Saveris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute Pavlos Rodinos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefanos Asimakopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
