Stamatis Matsoukelis hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Minas Pandrakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stamatis Matsoukelis in the 11th minute of play. A collision led to Gσnthi getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Diogenis Tzekos hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Petouniα's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Charis Roubesis fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 18 minutes into the match, Petouniα's goalkeeper Marios Mazarakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charis Roubesis. When Charis Roubesis came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Gσnthi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charis Roubesis couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute Panos Papadimas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Minas Pandrakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marios Mazarakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anestis Tsitouras, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Takis Poulakis during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Aggelos Kazoleas fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gσnthi's protests and gave Aggelos Kazoleas a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gσnthi's Aggelos Kazoleas got a free kick in the 29th minute. Anestis Tsitouras struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Marios Mazarakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gσnthi. In the 36th minute of the match, Anestis Tsitouras got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marios Mazarakis was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Gσnthi's Anestis Tsitouras slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marios Mazarakis. That made the score 1-1 after 36 minutes of play. Petouniα's Marios Mazarakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anestis Tsitouras in the 41st minute of play. Charis Roubesis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Anestis Tsitouras made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Gσnthi got a corner. Petouniα's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anestis Tsitouras ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Anestis Tsitouras managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gσnthi's supporters rose to their feet, but Anestis Tsitouras was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marios Mazarakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Charis Roubesis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Marios Mazarakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Takis Poulakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Minas Pandrakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stamatis Matsoukelis in the 67th minute of the match. Petouniα's Marios Mazarakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogenis Tzekos in the 68th minute of play. Gσnthi's Menios Laskarakis challenged an opponent after 70 minutes. The hit was so bad that he suffered a foot injury. Giannis Stamatakopoulou's late challenge caught a Gσnthi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giannis Stamatakopoulou helped the player get up and apologised. Gσnthi made a substitution. Themis Psarros replaced Menios Laskarakis. When Aggelos Theofilopoulos fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gσnthi's protests and gave Aggelos Theofilopoulos a yellow card for diving instead. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gσnthi! When the match had been going on for 82 minutes, Petouniα's Dimitris Vamvakoulas got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Minas Pandrakis. After 85 minutes, Diogenis Tzekos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gσnthi and the Petouniα players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Gσnthi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diogenis Tzekos to maneuver through the defense. Marios Mazarakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Tsitouras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marios Mazarakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anestis Tsitouras in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Diogenis Tzekos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marios Mazarakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Gσnthi manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Petouniα to win.
