When Drowning Pool FC's Christos Paspalas in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zakynthiakos FC's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Zakynthiakos FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Christos Fragis hit a great ball. When Drowning Pool FC's Christos Paspalas in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zakynthiakos FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 6th minute, Spyros Adamou ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marios Gonias was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Nasos Ramfos hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Zakynthiakos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christos Paspalas came free, but Marios Gonias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spyros Adamou in the 18th minute of play forced Zakynthiakos FC's goalkeeper Marios Gonias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 played minutes Zakynthiakos FC got a freekick which was hit by Christos Fragis. When Christos Fragis was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 21 minutes had been played. After 28 played minutes Zakynthiakos FC got a freekick which was hit by Kostas Pontikis. Marios Gonias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Spyros Adamou in the 30th minute of play. Drowning Pool FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Loukianos Pargalatsos in the 32nd minute. Loukianos Pargalatsos made a great header on Drowning Pool FC's corner, it was just that Zakynthiakos FC's Marios Gonias managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 33rd play minute Dimitris Kounoupis came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Prodromos Kakaris. 2-1. Alketas Kounoupis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Prodromos Kakaris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dimitris Kounoupis made a kick off. Drowning Pool FC's Christos Paspalas got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marios Gonias made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Christos Paspalas sent off a good shot on target. Prodromos Kakaris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimitris Kounoupis in the 62nd minute of the match. Kostas Pontikis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Prodromos Kakaris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Spyros Adamou fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Marios Gonias, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Drowning Pool FC booed when Zakynthiakos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timos Tatsis didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Christos Paspalas came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Drowning Pool FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christos Paspalas couldn't finish the play. Stergios Doulkeroglou lost his temper 72 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Zakynthiakos FC! Zakynthiakos FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Spyros Adamou 84 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. Christos Paspalas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Drowning Pool FC fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Drowning Pool FC's Spyros Adamou looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Zakynthiakos FC's Marios Gonias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Zakynthiakos FC from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Drowning Pool FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
