Spectators: 7630 (Terracing: 5763, Seating: 1767, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Giorgos Nestoridis started the match with the kick off. Spyros FC's Andreas Renieris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Spyros FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Drowning Pool FC's zone, Ignatios Tsagarakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prodromos Kakaris came out of the goal and Ignatios Tsagarakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andreas Renieris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Spyros Adamou in the 26th minute of play. Prodromos Kakaris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giorgos Nestoridis in the 29th minute of the match. Dionysis Papafanopoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ignatios Tsagarakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Spyros FC's Giorgos Nestoridis in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Drowning Pool FC's goalie prevented a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Spyros Adamou stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Drowning Pool FC were awarded a corner. Loukianos Pargalatsos went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Loukianos Pargalatsos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Andreas Renieris quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Andreas Renieris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Spyros Adamou, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The supporters of Spyros FC booed when Drowning Pool FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iraklis Koumentakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Spyros FC's Andreas Renieris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Spyros Adamou in the 66th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Giorgos Nestoridis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Prodromos Kakaris was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Spyros FC's Alkis Paralikas got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 77th minute Christos Paspalas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Renieris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Drowning Pool FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Loukianos Pargalatsos in the 79th minute. Aris Anagnostakis kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. If Ignatios Tsagarakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 84 minutes into the match, Drowning Pool FC's goalkeeper Prodromos Kakaris had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ignatios Tsagarakis. Ignatios Tsagarakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st match minute, Drowning Pool FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nontas Karnezis to maneuver through the defense. When Ignatios Tsagarakis came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Spyros FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ignatios Tsagarakis couldn't finish the play. After 95 minutes, Fanis Sarafidis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spyros FC and the Drowning Pool FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Spyros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fanis Sarafidis to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Spyros FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
