Argyris Terzis started the match with the kick off. Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s Demis Paboulis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikos Papageorgas in the 2nd minute of play. Nikos Papageorgas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Demis Paboulis having to make a save. Kostas Maggioros charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kostas Maggioros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s Kostas Maggioros got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 9 played minutes, University of Pennsylvani's Panos Gabriilidis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Demis Paboulis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in University of Pennsylvani reached it. Nikos Papageorgas scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Demis Paboulis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 19 minutes, Adamantios Mitrofanis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. University of Pennsylvani's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adamantios Mitrofanis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Papageorgas came free, but Demis Paboulis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adamantios Mitrofanis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Argyris Terzis got in the 27th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Lazaros Ntokas handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 31 minutes into the game, Orestis Keratakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave University of Pennsylvani the free kick. A collision led to Πάτημα Α.Ο. getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Orestis Keratakis hit a great ball. Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s Demis Paboulis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Πάτημα Α.Ο. from getting a goal against them. If Panagiotis Kolitsidakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Demis Paboulis made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Adamantios Mitrofanis sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute Nikos Papageorgas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demis Paboulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Argyris Terzis in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lazaros Ntokas saved University of Pennsylvani from getting behind. When Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s Argyris Terzis in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye University of Pennsylvani's goalie prevented a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Demis Paboulis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefanos Ntaloukas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Papageorgas came free, but Demis Paboulis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Demis Paboulis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Papageorgas, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. With a little luck, University of Pennsylvani's Lazaros Ntokas got control of the ball when Panagiotis Kolitsidakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adamantios Mitrofanis scored 2-0 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Demis Paboulis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikos Papageorgas in the 74th minute of play forced Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s goalkeeper Demis Paboulis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Panagiotis Kolitsidakis got free with Lazaros Ntokas in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute Nikos Papageorgas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demis Paboulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nikos Papageorgas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Demis Paboulis having to make a save. Demis Paboulis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adamantios Mitrofanis in the 91st minute of play. University of Pennsylvani's Nikos Papageorgas got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adamantios Mitrofanis in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Demis Paboulis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Πάτημα Α.Ο.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
