Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Omiros Kaklamanis made the kick off which started today's match. Melissia's Louis Pentasferos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omiros Kaklamanis in the 9th minute of play. Louis Pentasferos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstantinos Themelis in the 12th minute of the match. Louis Spyridakos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sakis Kolas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thanos Vitalis having to interfere. If Omiros Kaklamanis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanasis Beloukas struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Louis Pentasferos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iraklis Thessalonikis. 31 minutes into the match, Konstantinos Themelis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Louis Pentasferos. Melissia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Konstantinos Themelis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Omiros Kaklamanis might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Louis Pentasferos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Omiros Kaklamanis ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Iraklis Thessalonikis booed when Melissia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petros Bantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Konstantinos Themelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Louis Spyridakos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iraklis Thessalonikis's supporters rose to their feet, but Louis Spyridakos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Louis Pentasferos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Iraklis Thessalonikis were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Omiros Kaklamanis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Pentasferos having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Eleftherios Zervidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Iraklis Thessalonikis's Louis Spyridakos got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute Melissia were awarded a corner. Kleon Bosoulas went to the cornerflag to take it. Omiros Kaklamanis might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Louis Pentasferos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Omiros Kaklamanis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 83rd minute of the match Giorgos Taktikos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louis Pentasferos skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Melissia getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Petros Bantas hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Iraklis Thessalonikis defense, Chrisostomos Skarmoutsos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thanos Vitalis. The Iraklis Thessalonikis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thanos Vitalis should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Melissia getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. After a defensive mix-up in Iraklis Thessalonikis's zone, Sakis Kolas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanos Vitalis came out of the goal and Sakis Kolas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute Chrisostomos Skarmoutsos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanos Vitalis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Iraklis Thessalonikis players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
