Petros Kioumourtzoglou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pantelis Servetiadis, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Trifon Psilakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petros Kioumourtzoglou having to interfere. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paris Saint Germain's goalkeeper Petros Kioumourtzoglou, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Karteros F.C. defense, Thanasis Barbounelis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos. The Karteros F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos should have stopped the shot. After the first half Paris Saint Germain were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zinon Kalogiannis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Trifon Psilakis came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Karteros F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trifon Psilakis couldn't finish the play. Petros Kioumourtzoglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trifon Psilakis in the 68th minute of the match. Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitris Massoutas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vaggelis Papadias fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karteros F.C.'s protests and gave Vaggelis Papadias a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, Karteros F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vaggelis Papadias to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Karteros F.C.'s zone, Pantelis Servetiadis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos came out of the goal and Pantelis Servetiadis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dimitris Massoutas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos having to make a save. The supporters of Paris Saint Germain booed when Karteros F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christos Iatrakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Ilias Spyroulis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dimitris Massoutas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 89 minute of play. Pantelis Servetiadis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paris Saint Germain's Pantelis Servetiadis got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pantelis Servetiadis struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Thrasivoulos Papafotopoulos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paris Saint Germain. The Paris Saint Germain supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Paris Saint Germain would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
